Yes, your consultations are claimable through Medicare. For an overnight Sleep Study, there are options to either claim through Medicare or your private health insurer which we can discuss after your first consultation.

Every patient referred to The Canberra Sleep Clinic has varying treatment options depending their sleep related issues. All costs are discussed with a clinical team member after your initial consultation.

In accordance with Medicare legislation, a current Doctor’s referral is required to obtain a Medicare rebate. Please note; General Practitioner referrals are valid for 12 months and Specialist referrals are valid for 3 months. Unfortunately we cannot accept a referral from your Dentist or Psychologist as Medicare does not recognise these referrals without additional documentation.

Your referral will need to be faxed, mailed or emailed to us to ensure the appropriate time is allocated based on the reason you have been referred. Once your referral is received we will call you on the number provided to us to schedule your initial consultation.

Each of our sleep doctors have different wait times and appointment time slots based on the days they work and the reason you have been referred to us. Your referral will be triaged by our experienced administration team and you will be scheduled into the most appropriate appointment.

Yes! The Canberra Sleep Clinic does treat children from the age of 3. We offer consultations with our highly experienced Paediatric Sleep Physician Dr Tim McDonald.
